    When did you last get your eyes checked?

    Straight up: glaucoma is a disease that kills vision. It's preventable - but only if you know about it with regular check of your optic nerve (300,000 Aussies have it and half don't even know it).

     

    It runs in the family. So ask your parents if they've had issues. You are up to 8x more likely to get it if they have it.

    Glaucoma steals sight. It's preventable, but you need to get your optic nerve (nerve of sight) checked regularly to know if you have it. Especially if it runs in your family (you are up to 8 times more likely to get it). 

    Lastly, over 300,000 Australians are walking around with it (as best as they can), and half don't even know it.

     

    That's where we come in. Bloggers like me, and readers like you need to step up.

    We need to spread the word and increase awareness.

    I felt this was important enough to email around.

    I was finding a little bit out about glaucoma recently. It's a disease that basically steals your sight. It's terrible, it runs in families, and over 300,000 Aussies have it and half don't even know.

    Three things:

    Do you know anyone in your family with glaucoma?
